When the powers that be are doling out awards for vehicles, they very often fall into one of two categories: cars that are tremendous all-around vehicles with no regard for cost, and cars that are good enough considering their enviable prices. It is the rare car, indeed, that somehow manages to fit into that first group while undercutting similar competitors in the price department, but every year Kelley Blue Book digs deep into the auto industry to find the best of the best in terms of quality and value. This year, we here at Vicksburg Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM were very pleased to see that the 2016 Chrysler 300 was a finalist for the full-size car segment in this year’s KBB.com Best Buy Awards.

These accolades arguably are the most prestigious that KBB.com hands out in a given year, and that’s saying a lot considering their lengthy list of “Best Of” and “Top 10” compilations that cover just about everything under the sun. Essentially, the idea behind these awards is to heap praise on those vehicles that flat-out will live up to whatever consumers spend on them. They are, in effect, “Best Buys,” which is why the name is so appropriate.

In the case of the new Chrysler 300, KBB.com was most happy with the way it drives thanks to its powerful 292-hp Pentastar V6 engine and easy-shifting 8-speed automatic transmission. It looks absolutely beautiful, as well, and offers up a ton of great modern in-car technologies, all of which plays into a well-rounded large sedan that could make just about any driver happy. Knowing all of that, it’s no wonder Kelley Blue Book decided to make this new Chrysler car a finalist for so respected an honor.
