Search engines like Google have become so important that businesses these days literally pay thousands of dollars out of their ad budgets to find ways to tailor their websites to what consumers are actually searching for today. Luckily for them, Google keeps track of what people search for so it’s easier to find out how to best appeal to them.

Even more good news, at least for us here at Vicksburg Chrysler Dodge Jeep®  RAM, is that a couple of models that we sell were among the top three most-searched auto brands in the country for 2014. Both Jeep (#2) and Dodge (#3) generated enough interest among Google-users to land in the top three, and while the year-end report doesn’t expressly state why they finished ahead of so many other respected brands, it really isn’t too hard to guess.

Dodge in particular was a hot brand this year thanks to the release of the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat and subsequent release of the 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat. Any time a reasonably affordable 707-horsepower engine hits the market, it’s going to generate some interest from consumers.

Jeep, meanwhile, saw another successful year thanks to models like the 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee and 2015 Jeep Wrangler, easily the two most iconic and recognizable Jeep models in the lineup. Interest in those models likely fueled the charge in the strong finish for the Jeep brand.

At the end of the day, Google search results don’t mean much in terms of total sales, but it does mean a lot in terms of interest and overall popularity. For that reason, it’s exciting to see Jeep and Dodge finish among the buzziest brands of 2014.
