When it comes to new Dodge cars, few models ever generate quite as much as excitement as the Dodge Challenger and the Dodge Charger. These muscle cars serve as the paragons for the segment in a lot of ways, and thanks to the Mopar® brand there are seemingly endless ways to customize these automobiles for Portage, MI customers. One way that Mopar most recently supped up a Dodge Challenger was to create a special “80th Anniversary” edition for this month’s Chicago Auto Show.

Mopar, for those who aren’t familiar, is the performance car parts branch of the Dodge car brand, and for eight decades they have been specializing in finding ways to make good vehicles even better. Now, for those Portage, MI car lovers making the sojourn to the Windy City, Mopar has put together a new limited edition 2017 Mopar Challenger that will head to production in very limited runs over the course of the next few months.

These special edition models are able to generate upwards of 485 hp and 475 lb-ft of torque, all from the power of a huge 6.4-liter HEMI® engine mated with a six-speed manual transmission. There will be 160 examples of the limited edition produced in total, with half of them coming in Contusion Blue and the other half coming in Billet Silver. Other Mopar accessories and performance upgrades show up here and there, but the bottom line is that this automobile shows off exactly why Mopar has been so very successful for so very long.
