Every year since 1994, Motor Authority has handed out the North American Car and Truck of the Year Awards at the Detroit Auto Show. January is still a ways away, but that hasn’t stopped Motor Authority from generating early excitement for the awards by releasing the shortlist of finalists late last month.
That excitement was felt pretty tangibly by Chrysler dealerships across the country, as the 2015 Chrysler 200 was among those nominated for the “car” category. Redesigned for the new model year, the new Chrysler 200 has been very positively reviewed by both our customers and by professionals, with the latter making up a panel of over 50 voters that determine who receives the actual award later this winter.
While the list of nominees is admittedly formidable, the completely redesigned 2015 Chrysler 200 has a reasonable shot at winning the accolade. Not only does it offer strong engines, loads of hot new technologies, gorgeous aesthetics and a comfortable, lavish interior, but it’s also really nice to drive and has, on the whole, been improved enough to garner the goodwill of several automotive journalists all over the U.S.
Since those are the people that ultimately vote, we’re very excited to see how it all turns out for the new Chrysler 200. Honestly, it’s an honor to be nominated among such esteemed company, but a nomination is only half the battle. We’d really like to see the car win not only because it would help consumers see how great the car is, but because we think the redesign is something absolutely worthy of praise.
