Buying a new car is a tricky thing, mostly because the overwhelming majority of consumers have a huge list of things on their wish lists and only a certain amount of money available to make those dream features happen. Unfortunately for a lot of Vicksburg Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM customers, that limited budget can mean giving up on some of the most enjoyable wish list items, like performance, but in a model like the Dodge Dart GT there is plenty of zip available for a surprisingly reasonable price.
In fact, despite not being a traditional (or traditionally pricey) performance vehicle, this particular Dodge model actually offers up quite a bit in terms of get-up-and-go, so much so that Motor Trend recently included it on their list of “12 of the Quickest Non-Performance Compact Cars Motor Trend has Tested.”
It’s not the most scientific of accolades, obviously, but it is an assembly of vehicles that gives appropriate shout-outs to typically underappreciated cars that drive much better than one would expect them to. In the case of the Dart, for example, buyers get one of the higher power ratings in the segment thanks to a zippy 2.4-liter engine capable of producing an impressive 184 hp and 174 lb-ft of torque. That’s enough to propel the vehicle from zero-to-60 mph in just 8.7 seconds, a surprising number for a car in this price range.
Frankly, new Dodge cars these days are expected to offer elite performance, even when it comes to more affordable models like the Dart. While the Dart is no Challenger SRT Hellcat, it still is really fun to drive and puts some of that performance in the hands of Vicksburg consumers on a budget.
