Not sure when you need to get Chrysler service? This guide will let you know when to get important maintenance tasks:
The old “every 3,000 miles” adage is mostly pretty antiquated by now. Every 5,000 miles is more accurate, and that may extend all the way up to 10,000.
It’s always a good idea to consult your owner’s manual for more precise information. And regardless of miles, it is important to have the oil changed twice per year.
It’s good to remember that your tires don’t wear down evenly, which is why they need to be rotated. Doing this every time you get your oil changed is a wise idea.
Eventually, however, your tires will need to be replaced, and this is generally around 20,000 miles.
Brake or Battery Check
Both your brakes and battery should be inspected a least once per year. You should be able to drive up to around 50,000 miles before pads and shoes wear down.
Rotors are typically good for up to 60,000 miles. The average battery lasts between three and five years.
There are several different types of filters in your car: fuel, oil, and air. Because they get dirty over time, they should be looked at regularly, perhaps when you get your oil changed and tires rotated. Filters will probably need to be replaced around 30,000 miles.
