There’s something really enjoyable about watching a pickup truck do work that pushes it to its mechanical limits. It’s kind of like watching an Olympic weight lifter try to press several hundred pounds over his or her head. All we mere mortals can do is stand back and shake our head in astonishment. Those kinds of feats of strength are beyond comprehension, and that’s the same way we feel watching RAM trucks work their hardest, too.
In fact, there are a number of ways in which new RAM trucks, particularly the 3500 Heavy Duty, are considered the best in their classes, and the 2016 RAM 3500 HD is going to top the industry in some very important categories thanks to what really are some jaw-dropping performance numbers.
Most notably, the new 3500 HD will feature a 6.7-liter Cummins engine under its hood which, in conjunction with a lauded Aisin transmission, will help the truck generate a whopping 900 lb-ft of torque. There really aren’t a lot of big jobs that a truck with that sort of power couldn’t do, especially when one considers that the high torque is the reason that the 3500 HD also offers the top numbers in its segment in terms of towing capability (31,210 pounds) and payload hauling (7,390).
Clearly, those are numbers that would make just about any pickup truck fan drool with desire. It’s not easy finding a pickup truck that can do a little bit of everything, but a properly-equipped RAM truck is just about as well-rounded as pickups come.
We’re excited about the imminent release of the new 3500 HD, and we invite you to pay us a visit just as soon as it arrives to take it for a test drive.
