Of all the makes we sell here at Vicksburg Chrysler Dodge Jeep® RAM, no marque tends to generate quite as much noise on the PR circuit as the Jeep brand. This month, for example, the automaker is taking part once again in the Easter Jeep Safari, which pits some monstrous off-roading Jeep vehicles against the popular desert trails of Moab, Utah. In a lot of ways, this truly signals the return of spring.
One of the best things about this event is the concepts, which take popular models like the Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Grand Cherokee and alter and add to them so that they’re ready to hit the trails with gusto.
This year, two of the most popular concept models include the Jeep Safari, which features a see-through roof and side panels, and the Jeep Luminator, which is completely lit up with LED lights like lighters at a Bon Jovi concert.
Those two examples are both gimmicky from an aesthetic standpoint, but there are performance-heavy concepts at this year’s Easter Jeep Safari, as well, including the massive Jeep Switchback that sits on a 4-inch lift with 37-inch wheels. In the battle of trail versus SUV, the Jeep Switchback is going to win every time.
Furthermore, there’s a version of the 2017 Jeep Compass Trailhawk® at the event that gets a 1.5-inch left and bigger, fatter tires, as well as a couple other models that are a little less splashy but just as entertaining.
While these vehicles won’t find their way to your Jeep dealership inVicksburg, MI anytime soon, we still can admire just how awesome and innovative these concept models are. Plus, you never know how a concept will resonate, and how the automaker will use the best of those ideas in future production models!
